It was in 1940’s when Mr Chandrika Prasad took the initiative of starting a seed business that would reach the masses. The initiative took its modern shape in 1980, when one of his sons, Mr Arun Chandra joined the business in 1980. Through his consistent efforts and hard work he developed one of the most popular varieties of Long Melon (Kakri) Tar Super Chandra Prabha. He has a massive experience in the seed industry and now a new firm is established under his valuable guidance and supported by the name Chandra Arun Crop Science. Now his legacy is being carried forward in a more scientific, innovative and professional manner by Saurabh Chandra- MSC (Ag) ( Genetic and Plant Breeding) MBA ( Agribusiness) ( Bronze Medalist) and Gaurav Chandra (MBA- International Business).
The firm has now developed many high yielding varieties of long melon and other vegetables. One of our newly developed varieties of long melon – Tar Chandra Saanvi is gaining popularity for its high yield and uniformity. Chandra Arun Crop Science is now one of the leading long melon producer and sellers in North India.
